Tinge Detroit

Born in 2016 Tinge Detroit started as a passion project and creative outlet. Born out of my love for t shirts and screen printing, Tinge started as a means to wear my own designs and have a source of self expression. Fast forward 7 years, this passion project has grown in ways that allow me creative expression, freedom to experiment, and to build a community that supports that creativity. Once just thought of as another t-shirt project, Tinge has evolved into a creative studio and Lifestyle brand.

The Tinge Future Basics 001 Capsule was born from the idea of my move to Stockholm, Sweden from Detroit, Michigan. I wanted to make a minimalist design focused on strong type, great colors, and simple shapes. Core principles, that in my opinion, stand the test of time. The idea of Tinge going from '“local Detroit” to “international Stockholm” felt appropriate to do a take on the very popular “worldwide” theme.

With the vehicle of this Capsule and the Tinge platform, I took the opportunity to direct a full editorial shoot and video. The goal was to put as much my feelings toward my community and leaving the place of where I have grown up, into mediums that could speak for me and independently.

I assembled a team made up of friends who have inspired me along the way. Detroit creatives, movers, and shakers all with their very unique stories to tell. The main theme of the photoshoot and videos were giving thanks to the Detroit community for all that it has fostered, while looking forward to the future of the journey that lies ahead.
